Dryopteris dilatata 'Lepidota Cristata' is a smaller, crested form of this magnificent garden fern, bearing a shuttlecock of , upright, pale green fronds with contrasting brown, scaly stems in spring. In mild winters it will stay green, but in cold, exposed positions its more likely to be deciduous
